Bath Time

Oddly enough, Drew prefers showers to baths. Maybe it's easier for him to shave, but he always ends up using all the hot water. Here's a rare series of him in the tub.

Gumming mom to death.

What looks like a giant, terry cloth serpant shallowing our son whole.

And doesn't look a bit guilty about it.

Later, after being regurgitated onto the changing table, Drew is thankful to see daylight again. He realizes bath time is far too dangerous and will stick to showers.

Pool side

Drew's first experience pool side a week or so back. He got his feet wet, but that's as far as it went. Needless to say, he freaked out.

Mom consoles, and puts him in his LL Cool J hat.

And wouldn't you know he was much more comfortable floating around.

Drew sleeps in his embroidered blanky

Lay your weary head...

...on the best pillow in the house.

Cover my skinny legs now!

What can I say, the kid hates to be naked.

At his second check up, Drew weighs in at 6 lbs. 3 oz. Here, he looks at mom with the sneaking suspicion that she will try to undress him again.

Sleepy time

Enjoying a snooze with my two boys- Ed wasn't able to fit on the couch with us.

Taking matters into his own hands

We finally let Drew's hands free and look what he discovered! Two pacifiers available whenever he needs them in the form of his thumbs.

Big day at Bellevue

I promised more pictures and I intend to deliver. I thought I might share our "labor day" experience to start things off.

Sue and I went into the hospital Saturday morning (4/21) around 8 am. Her contractions were getting stronger and more frequent so we slipped her into something a little more comfortable.

Labor gets more intense...time to have a seat.

Ok, that's enough of that. How 'bout that epideral?

Andrew's born 6:42 pm.

And more on Andrew's first moments on the outside:

A great labor and delivery, thanks to Dr. Burstyn.

We wake up to a beautiful day with Drew on Sunday, 4/22. It just so happens to be my birthday. Best gift ever!

Welcome to the world Andrew David Koller!

On Saturday, April 21 a baby boy - Andrew "Drew" David Koller was born into the world around the 8th inning of the heated *Yanks/Sox game (6:42 pm).

Sue delivered a healthy, happy baby weighing 5 lbs, 11oz. Mom's vigourous workouts must have attributed to his lean and mean physique and early reports say he was born sporting Nike baby Shox and an ipod shuffle -- apparently ready to hit the ground running.

The proud parents were discharged from Bellevue Hospital last night and gratefully got to sleep in their own bed. Thanks to the friends and family who lent their support and well wishes, we love you guys. More pics are on the way!
*Sadly, the Yanks were later defeated by their infamous rivals.

The baby bedding has completed the crib- it is so beautiful and the colors are so vibrant. Now we are just waiting for baby K to occupy it. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Quinn. Also take notice to the fashionable Yankee mobile that the soon to be Dad had to have for his little one!

Growing babies is tough work

I have to say, Sue is handling her pregnancy really well. She has worked, gone to the gym and basically refused to let the pregnancy change her lifestyle. But the kid is constantly karate chopping her from within to let her know that lifestyle changes are inevitable!

Ashe, as always, is oblivious to the world.

Computer out, kid in

I can't believe we finally transformed the computer room to accomodate a little one. It took a little bit of lugging, painting, calking, and assembling but it's pretty close to being ready. All of the furniture is dark cherry and it looks great.

Here's a shot of the dresser (thanks Dad and Carol for chipping in!). Sue ordered some prints of baby animals with their parents and we arranged them above. As you can see, the dresser will double as a changing table.

And the crib is set up against the far wall.

And near the window, we set up a bookshelf that Sue painted.

There're a couple more things to hang up, and my mom's bringing up a rocking chair that my brother, sister and I were all rocked in as babies. Now we just need a kid to move in!

Sue's first ultrasound 1.0

Soon after Sue and I discovered we were going to be parents (no disrespect Ashe, you're our boy) we made an appointment for an ultrasound at the practice where Sue is employed.

This image below is the first look at the life growing in Sue's belly. The tecnician was quick to point out the heartbeat which was comprised two pixels flashing back and forth on the monitor.

Here's a pic:
